This incredible 1600s Stuart crystal features a hand-painted portrait of Queen Mary II. A skull sits grimly next to the queen along with her date of death above the skull, “Dec 28: 94” (December 28th, 1694), encased in a thick Stuart crystal with lovely faceted edging. In verso features a lovely blue enamel still amazingly intact after well over 300 years. This lovely slide is ready to be worn as a ring custom to your ring size.

Someone of high status, possibly even a close friend of the queen, would have likely worn this in support of the monarchy. This was originally a slide and overtime someone accrued a collection of Stuart crystal slides and added them to an ornate gold necklace chain, as evidenced in the last photo in the gallery. In the “notes” section, please indicate your ring size and the chain will be modified to fit your finger in the 14k gold rolo chain pictured in the photos. Please allow 7-10 business days for this to be customized for you. This fine silver 17th century portrait was originally crafted in a nicely sized oval setting—beautifully sized to adorn on your finger.

Queen Mary II was queen of Scotland, England and Ireland from 1689 until her death from smallpox in 1694. She was married to her cousin William III and remained childless throughout her life, which was alleged to be the greatest source of her unhappiness in life. Whilst her marriage to King William III started out as distant, they became so close later on in life that William III was beyond devastated after her death. Popular history often refer to their reign as that of "William and Mary”.
