This antique French betrothal ring has fede features with two cuffed hands grasping a crowned heart. The crown is adorned with 7 decorated dots representing the 7 days of the week, demonstrating you will always have faithfulness and loyalty for your beloved 7 days a week. How romantic! A suitor likely gifted this to a young French woman in the 1800s as a promise of love and marriage—a bague de foi.
There are a couple dents on the 3D heart (one of them intentional to its design), yet the heart still stands strong. A lovely, profound sentient depicting that throughout wear and tear and dents, one’s heart is a force of nature that defies a broken heart and remains intact; still whole and gold. Even after all these years.
Size: Approx. 4.5 US.
Materials: 18k gold (acid tested).
Hallmarks: Possibly an eagle head hallmark on outside of band—this is undetermined due to wear.
Condition: Dents on heart, slight distortion on band and wear/scratches throughout, some evidence of repair. Please view photos for proper condition report and feel free to ask any questions prior to purchase.
