This amazing piece of American history celebrates the history of America’s 100th birthday. In raised lettering on the band features the years 1776 and 1876 along with the word “CENTENNIAL”. There is a ribbon-like plate between 1876 and 1776 where a name could have been engraved on there almost 150 years ago—alas, it never was. What an amazing day it must’ve been in 1876 to purchase this ring, and proudly celebrate living in a free country where Ulysses Grant was president at the time this ring was commissioned, and when Alexander Bell had just invented an interesting item called the “telephone”! Several styles of this ring were made in 1876 and very few remain. This has been the only centennial ring we’ve ever come across that features the word “centennial” on this birthday of America ring.
